-Freewrite: Reflect on your writing process for the last paper. How did your writing change from your first draft to your second to your final?

-Moving into Boyd’s topic: SHOW VIDEO(S) Ted talk? Interview?

-Exploring Boyd’s Project and Intended Audience: Showing Image of the front cover, table of contents, publishing information, footnotes, creative commons license for electronic version of the text, etc. (Found in “Some Materials for Teaching Boyd’s ‘Literacy: are today’s youth digital natives?’” available on the wiki)

-Group Work: Answer “Questions to ask any text before reading” (on RWs 100 Reader).

  2. Research an interesting aspect of text: the author, her blog, the publisher, context, the license information, and/or key references in the text (as suggested in “Some Materials”) in order to prepare for a freewriting exercise at the beginning of next class.

-Sharing is Caring: Exchange the text you investigated with the person next to you. Why do you feel this is significant or relevant to the text? How does it intertwine with Boyd?

-Group Work: Review various texts from the list (pick 3, one video, two texts to analyze in groups). Determine how the text intersects with the main text.

  1. Complete #3 in “Class Activities and Writing Assignments” in Essentials, page 67: Create an annotated bibliography for your collected sources.
